Our Vision for Botswana

A Vision for Botswana's Future
Zotus City is a privately initiated, master planned smart city development led by the private sector and developed in partnership with the Government of Botswana.
Endorsed by President Advocate Duma Boko at the World Economic Forum 2025, this project has secured the highest level of governmental support and commitment through multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
The project has been conceived to support Botswana's long term national development priorities, including economic diversification, sustainable urbanisation, infrastructure expansion, and regional connectivity.
Key Agreements
- MOU with the Office of the President signed on 13th February 2025
- Tripartite MOU with BITC and the TKC Secretariat on 10th October 2025
- Tripartite MOU with the Ghanzi District Council and BITC on 8th October 2025
Zotus City Development Group
Zotus City is promoted and led by Zotus City Development Group, a private development platform established to deliver large scale, investment grade urban projects across emerging markets.
The development group is responsible for project vision, capital structuring, master planning coordination, investor engagement, and long term asset development.
This model allows Zotus City to move with commercial discipline, global best practice, and investor accountability, while remaining fully integrated with Botswana's national development agenda.

Formal Institutional MoU Framework
Zotus City is supported by a multi level institutional MoU framework spanning national coordination, host district engagement, investment promotion and regional corridor alignment.
The framework focuses on:
- Land allocation and planning coordination
- Regulatory and statutory alignment
- Infrastructure integration
- Investment facilitation
- Long term economic impact and job creation
Institutional alignment across national, local, investment promotion and regional corridor levels supports planning coherence, while private sector leadership ensures commercial discipline and access to international capital markets.
National, Local and Corridor Alignment
Zotus City is supported by formal engagements with the Office of the President of the Republic of Botswana, Ghanzi District stakeholders, the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre, and the Trans Kalahari Corridor Secretariat.

A Catalytic Urban Platform
Zotus City is envisioned as a catalytic urban platform that will:
- Attract domestic and international investment
- Support industrial and logistics development
- Enable sustainable tourism and hospitality growth
- Create skilled employment opportunities
- Position Botswana as a competitive regional hub
The city is designed to evolve in phases, guided by market demand, infrastructure readiness, and environmental sustainability principles.
Governance and Transparency
Zotus City operates under a structured governance framework that separates public sector facilitation from private sector execution. The project adheres to established planning laws, investment regulations, and environmental standards, ensuring transparency, accountability, and long term value creation for all stakeholders.
A Long Term Commitment
Zotus City is not a speculative development.
It is a long term commitment to Botswana's future, designed to deliver enduring economic, social, and infrastructural value over multiple decades.
